Title: Product Enhancements for Increased Safety in Use, Operation and Maintenance of Size Reduction Equipment

Description:

Based on new technology and product development, there are considerable advances in machine safety which bring critical savings and benefit to manufacturers in all segments of the polymer industries. These benfits range from savings of valuable maintenance resources, labor, and can even range into economic impact in the form of insurance coverage, and the ever-valuable prevention of lost time events.

A presenting the overview of the enhancements will outline the bottom line ROI, will outline he reduction in the consumption of maintenance labor, and will expound on the successful implementation of new and reliable reclamation systems

Type: General Session

Abstract:

An outline will be presented on the negative impacts to lost time accidents to work-staff. These are both simple financial complications as well as the ripple-effect of lost resources.

Exaanding to prevention, we will focus on the ned to focus on up-front consideerations for safe and high-performing systems, the continued reduction in the ongoing consumption of resorces, and then will emphasize the continued need for upgrading past systems. The ROI can be as short as 6 months, when an open-minded approach is placed on these often over-looked yet critial efforts.

Scrap generation is unavoidable, even with high emphasis on minimzing the creation of scrap. That scrap is "gold" in that it is an in-house resource, which has been paid for with funds, and a resource tha tshould not require the expenditure of even more funds, to dispose of or off-load. This commodity can be recouped rather easily, safely, and econaomically, with teh right focus of attention
